Q: Can I bring my children with me?
A: Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the salon UNLESS they are having services themselves. We love them, and many of us have them, however, we have hot and sharp tools, wax, and dangerous situations that could harm them. We are very serious about this policy and unfortunately will need to reschedule your appointment if need be.
Q: Why do prices vary?
A: As a result of their achievements, our professionals work at various levels.. While prices vary accordingly, every La Pomponnée specialist is constantly improving through ongoing education. Whatever level you seek, you’ll enjoy superior service with a touch to make your day.

Q: Should I wash my hair before coloring it or getting an updo?
A: For color services, No. Washing the hair strips away its natural oils. For updos…yes. We prefer freshly clean dry hair. We will add the texture with our products for hold.

Our therapists explain the entire process in detail so that you can make informed decisions regarding your individual preferences and needs for the service to maximize your comfort level.
Q: My favorite service providers are always so busy. How can I be sure they are available when it’s convenient for me?
A: Many of our most popular service providers are industry leaders and maintain a steady clientele. To guarantee an appointment with your favorite provider, simply schedule it well in advance, even if that means scheduling it before leaving the salon. This guarantees availability with your service provider at a date and time that is most convenient to you.
Q: This is my first time at a spa. What can I expect?
A: When you enter, check-in at the reception desk. The Spa coordinator will escort you to the waiting room. We have a small locker Room to change into a robe and spa slippers, if you wish. Or you can opt to change in the treatment room.
You will be asked to fill out a brief questionnaire. This will allow the therapist to know a little about your medical background. Please note that all information is strictly confidential and will be used solely for the purpose of your treatment. Take a few moments to relax and unwind. When it’s time for your service the service provider will escort you to the treatment room. They give you instructions and will then leave the room and you will have an opportunity to disrobe and situate yourself on the treatment table under a sheet and blanket. Your body will be covered at all times during the treatment, with the exception of the part of your body the specialist is treating. This will be exposed briefly for treatment and then re-covered.
Q: How early should I arrive for my treatment?
A: We highly recommend arriving 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.
Q: Is there anything I should avoid prior to a spa treatment?
A: We recommend that you refrain from eating within one hour prior to receiving massage or a body treatment. Alcoholic beverages should not be consumed before any spa treatment. We ask that you do not shave your legs within 24 hours of receiving a body treatment.
Q: What should I expect during my massage? Will I be covered?
A:You will be modestly draped with towels and sheets throughout your massage. However, if you feel more comfortable keeping minimal under garments on, that’s fine. We want you to relax.
Q: Can the spa accommodate group bookings?
A: Definitely! Just give us the details and we will put together a package that suits your needs! Be sure to notify your group coordinator in advance if you would like any special arrangements such as a catered lunch. A 20% service charge will be added to private parties of six or more. Based on the size of the party, an additional spa fee may apply.
Q: Will I have to disrobe entirely?
A: The degree to which you disrobe can depend on the treatment. Undergarments are generally not necessary. The best way to get the full effect of a massage is to disrobe completely. The staff is trained to drape towels or sheets discreetly over any areas of your body not involved in the treatment and to protect your privacy at all times.
Q: What is paraffin and how will it benefit me?
A: Paraffin is a wax. It is heated in a special pot and combined with oils. Paraffin treatments work splendidly on the hands and feet, allowing oils to penetrate into deeper skin layers, leaving hands and feet softer and luxuriously re-moisturized.
Q: How long does my hair need to be for waxing to be most effective?
A: In order for waxing to be most effective hair length should be 1/8 to 1/4 inches long depending on the thickness of the hair.
Q: Does waxing hurt?
A: Waxing can be painful depending on your tolerance and sensitivity. A person using Retin-a, Accutane, Alpha-Hydroxy acid products, tanning beds, needs to alert their spa technician prior to waxing. Reactions are possible and can be painful.
Q: What do I wear during a bikini wax?
A: We do provide disposable undergarments to prevent your undergarments from getting wax on them. It is your choice if you would like to wear the disposables or not.
Q: How often do I need to wax?
A: When waxing for the first time you must have at least 1/4 inch of hair growth. DO NOT SHAVE for two weeks prior to your waxing appointment. While everyone is different generally every 4 to 6 weeks is the average.
Q: Are their any health conditions that I need to disclose before my appointment?
A: Please be aware that if you are heat sensitive, suffer from high blood pressure, or heart conditions, services that involve the application of heat are not advised. Please consult your doctor first. We also need to be informed of any skin sensitivities or infections prior to treatment.
