General FAQs

What is your cancellation/no show policy?

We ask for 24 hours notification, so we may utilize our waitlist. IMPORTANT: a NO SHOW/NO CALL will be charged the full amount of the missed service(s) to the card on file. If cancellations and changes happen too often, we may require same-day bookings only.


Can I bring my children with me?

Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to wait for their parents to have services, UNLESS they are having services themselves. We love them, and many of us have them, however, we have chemicals, hot tools, and sharp instruments laying around that could can easily harm them.


Why do prices vary amongst service providers?

Our professionals’ pricing is based on the years they have served our clients and the demand for appointments. Every La Pomponnée service provider is constantly improving through ongoing education. A newer artisan may have a lower price point, but, you’ll still enjoy superior service.


What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards and cash.


How can I leave a gratuity?

Gratuities are graciously accepted in cash form only or if your service provider offers Venmo. They may not be placed on a credit card.


My favorite service providers are always so busy. How can I be sure they are available when it’s convenient for me?

To guarantee an appointment with your favorite provider, simply schedule before leaving the salon. This ensures a date and time that is most convenient to you. If you need a time that isn’t open, please ask to be put on our WAITLIST. We use this feature daily when people cancel.


What is your LOYALTY program about?

While we understand the convenience of ordering your home care products online, we benefit from your purchases at our desk more and we appreciate your loyalty to our small business. You’ll also earn points for referring new guests to us as well. Accumulated points will appear on your physical receipt and your email receipt. You may redeem them for qualifying FREE product or gift cards.

Mt. Lebanon Location:
Including the surrounding areas of Bethel Park, Upper St. Claire, Dormont, Carnegie, and Downtown.
McMurray Location:
Including the surrounding areas of Canon, Vinescia, Washington, Ridgeville, and South Hill.



Gift Card FAQs

Are La Pomponnée Gift Certificates valid only at the location they were purchased?

NO. They may be used at either location.


What can be purchased with a La Pomponnée Gift Certificate?

Our certificates are redeemable in products, services – or any combination – equal to the dollar amount of the gift card/certificate. They cannot be used for tipping.


Do you accept Aveda Gift Cards/Certificates?

We are a private business. AVEDA corporate certificates may only be used at corporate stores or online at Aveda.com.


Can I buy a gift card over the Phone?

No, unfortunately, we cannot securely perform that function.


Why are Gift card unavailable ONLINE at times?

While we appreciate you doing business with us all the time, a gift certificate is truly an IOU. When our books are filled up and we are turning clients away, selling more gift certificates doesn’t feel right. So, we slow down those sales online, periodically, so gift card holders have a chance to get in.



Hair FAQs

If I have had my hair colored at a La Pomponnée location, next time can I use the formula a different at the other location?

Yes, formulas are in your client card on our software and accessible to both locations..


Should I wash my hair before coloring it?

No, unless your service provider at La Pomponnee suggests otherwise


What should I do before an updo or formal styling?

1) Send a photo of what you’d like to jessicac@lapomponnee.com, 2) Arrive with CLEAN, DRY hair.


Can I bring a photo for stylist?

Yes PLEASE DO! We find communication is much easier with photos of what you like, and don’t like.


Why can’t I book wedding services or special occasion hair online?

We prefer clients send us a photo of the hairstyle they would like to have done so we may book them with a stylist that is familiar and skilled in that particular look.



Spa FAQs

How early should I arrive for my spa service?

We advise arrive 10 minutes early. This gives you a chance to use the rest room, have a cup of our AVEDA tea . and unwind before your treatment begins.


Can La Pomponnée accommodate group bookings?

Mt. Lebanon has the space for groups. We have 12 styling stations, 4 treatment rooms, 4 manicure tables, and 3 pedicure units. We also have a private space to gather. Our group coordinator is Carla and she will be happy to put together your appointments! We will require a deposit and card on file for the group.


Can I get a massage if I am pregnant?

Yes. Our therapists are trained in prenatal massage, but doctor’s approval is advisable, especially if you are in your 1st trimester. Please be sure to notify your La Pomponnée therapist before your appointment.


What should I expect during my massage?

During their initial intake, our therapists explain the entire process in detail so that you can make informed decisions regarding your individual preferences and needs to maximize your comfort level. You will have the opportunity to visit the restroom and then hang up your clothes before the service begins. The degree to which you disrobe can depend on the treatment. You will be modestly draped with towels and sheets throughout your massage. The staff is trained to use the towels and sheets to discreetly cover the areas of your body not involved in the treatment, and to protect your privacy at all times.


Will I break out after a facial?

Sometimes, the skin can begin to detox after a facial and clients experience a breakout. We recommend using gentle skin care products for home care. Your esthetician can make suggestions.



Waxing FAQs

How long does my hair need to be?

In order for waxing to be most effective, your hair should be left to grow 2-3 weeks.


What do I wear during a bikini wax?

We provide disposable undergarments to prevent your own from getting wax on them.


How often do I need to wax?

While everyone is different generally every 4 to 6 weeks is the average.


Are their any health conditions that need to disclose before my wax appointment?

Please let us know if you have allergies, use Retin-a, or are under the care of a dermatologist prior to waxing. Sun exposure and certain medications can be also be contraindications for safe waxing.
